Day 182, October 24, 2012 (Joe Wheeler and Rogersville, AL):This is all about our rendezvous organized by America’s Great Loop Cruisers Association. Some 120 boats and 40 wannabee cruisers converged on Joe Wheeler last Sunday.
Day 177, October 19, 2012:We bring you up to Grand Harbor near the Pickwick Lock and Dam on the Tennessee River. Although we have moved on to Florence, AL, farther up the Tennessee from Grand Harbor at the time of this post, we will catch our faithful viewers up on our journey upriver.
Day 168, October 10, 2012 (Paris Landing State Park, TN):A stunning ride up the Tennessee River! A picture is worth a thousand words. Fall colors are becoming more brilliant by the day with the nights in the 30s and days in the low 70s.
Day 167, October 9, 2012 (Grand Rivers, KY): With 14 of our closest looper friends we descended on Nashville—two van loads of us plus Rusty the ageing Labrador aboard Good Karma. Nashville is the epicenter pf the country music genre, the Hall of Fame a must-see.
Day 161, October 4, 2012 (Hoppie’s Marine Services, anchorages): Here are a few images of Alton that I left out of my last post. At right is the ConAgra grain elevator with its patriotic welcome. The flood of 1993 rose to the base of the elevator and is marked with a red line.
